The Marvels Movie Review: Unmasking Strengths and Weaknesses
I am disappointed. The Marvels is another filler movie from MCU. I thought it would be fun to watch this movie but its weak storyline with some little VFX doesn't get a place in my mind.
The Marvels is all about Female Empowerment. The main reason why I felt excited about this movie was the plot. Three Superheroes are teaming up for some problem with their powers. They are finding the solution for this problem but they found the main problem. So what will they do? Can they fix their problem without using their power or they will fail to fix this? But my expectations were met after watching this film. Because Marvel doesn't use it's the full potential of their Characters. The story writing is very average. The main character's problem doesn't feel really problematic. Emotion is the total mission of the movie.
Many old characters are here from old MCU movies like Nike Fury, Maria Rambeau, Yusuf Khan, and many more, Their presence is not impactful, especially Nike Fury. He did just a little bit of action and that's all. Nike Fury who assembled Avengers he just doing his job here in this movie. After watching his in Secret Invasion I thought he would be coming with some great fighting and some intense situations but alas I am totally wrong here.
The main three Superhero characters are Captain Marvel, Monica Rambear, and Ms Marvel, They are just average in they are roles. Captain Marvel is not in her full abilities like in previous movies. Ex: Avengers Endgame. Monika's power level is like ok, ok type. We saw her in the "Wandavision" TV series after that this is the second time we see her again. I personally don't know her full superpowers level because we have not seen her full power yet, so this movie shows us her real powers. Ms Marvel is like a little child here with great power within her bengel. She asked so many questions and Captain Marvel and Monika tried to answer them but they failed. But Kamala is good at her acting. I liked her funny questions about everything.
Let's not forget to talk about our villen Dar Benn played by Zawe Ashton. Her action in the whole film is just ok. She has pretty good backstories and some of the best power but unfortunately, she doesn't have a good plot to show her fear.
VFX
Talking about VFX this movie doesn't do the best job here but it worked pretty smoothly. I watched this movie very closely but did not find any problem with the VFX. But I felt VFX is a bit lagging and chopping some portion of this movie.
STORY
The Marvel movie's basic story is our superheroes have a power dumping problem. Whenever they use their power they teleport randomly to their fellow partner's places and the reason behind this is Dar Bean. So they try to fight with Dar Benn with this problem and win the fight. This is the whole plot. The story very easily predictable so it doesn't impress me with it's story.
CONCLUSION
So the Marvels didn't satisfy me, or my expectations. This movie is just another filler movie of the MCU. If I told my personal opinion then it is safe to say that you can watch this movie if you are a fan of Marvel.
